Navigate overview
Navigation is a set of Doeviz features that helps you travel independently. Many conventional navigation apps convey information visually, through maps, arrows, and highlighted routes. This information isn't accessible to people who are blind or have low vision. Doeviz Navigation turns it into spoken guidance, vibration, and sound effects. It also offers many assistance features designed specifically for blind and low-vision users.
Navigation interactions are tailored to how blind and low-vision users use screen readers. The order and content of screen reader focus have been refined many times. Frequently used buttons are grouped on one side of the screen for easier one-handed use while traveling. You can also adjust the layout in navigation settings to suit your habits.

Heading: A talking compass that announces the direction your phone is pointing. Turn to a new direction to hear an updated announcement.
Along-route announcements: Automatically hear the names of places you pass and whether they are on your left or right, as if someone were describing the streets and landmarks beside you.
Heading deviation alerts: Receive alerts during navigation about the angle by which your direction differs from the route, helping you avoid gradually drifting farther off course.
Favorites: Save places you visit often, such as home and work, for quick navigation. You can also mark useful locations and landmarks, such as turning points.

Search bus and metro routes: Find a bus route or metro line, select the direction of travel, and view its details. You can also turn on stop alerts while riding a bus.

It helps you feel more confident traveling independently on unfamiliar streets.
Transit navigation: Plan a route combining walking and public transport, with step-by-step guidance for walking and taking each bus or metro service.
Driving navigation: As a passenger, plan a driving route, view its details, and hear route information and the distance to your destination during the ride. You can also preview the journey with Simulated navigation.
Destination guidance: After arrival, sounds and speech continue to tell you the direction and distance to your destination, helping you cover the final 10 meters.
Simulated navigation: Preview the navigation announcements along a selected route before setting out, with an adjustable simulation speed.
Navigation settings: Adjust announcement intervals, heading deviation alerts, vibration, shake actions, and the layout. Find these options in the Settings tab.
