Simulated navigation

What it does

Simulated navigation rehearses a journey along the route you have selected. Preview the sequence of directions, turn prompts, and spoken guidance without setting out, then start the real journey when you are familiar with it.

When to use it

Use it before visiting an unfamiliar place to learn where navigation will announce turns, transfers, and arrival. Walking, transit, and driving navigation all support simulation.

How to use it

Once route planning is complete, select “Simulated navigation” on the route planning page. The simulation follows your selected route.

Movement is automatic. Adjust the speed from 5 to 50 kilometers per hour; the default is 20 kilometers per hour. You can pause and resume the simulation.

Simulated navigation is for getting familiar with a route in advance. During the actual journey, make decisions based on the road and traffic conditions around you.
