Search bus and metro routes

What it does

Use the Navigate search box to find bus routes and metro lines.

When to use it

Use it to plan a journey by checking a route's direction, stops, or operating hours. If you want to hear stop alerts while on a bus, search for the route you are riding and enable alerts on its details page.

How to use it

Enter the name of a bus route or metro line in the search box. Matching routes appear at the top of the results. Select one, then choose a direction in “Select route direction” to open “Bus route details” or “Metro line details.”

To search for a route in another city, include the city name, for example, “Shenzhen Metro Line 1.”

Route details show the direction, first and last departure times, route length, and “All stops,” and help you find the stop nearest your current location. Select a stop to open its bus stop or metro station details.

In “Bus route details,” use “I'm on the bus. Turn on stop alerts.” Alerts track your progress along the selected route. When the bus comes within about 50 meters of a stop, the phone announces the stop and the next stop's name and vibrates. The final stop has a separate announcement. Alerts continue when you lock the screen or switch to another app, but turn off automatically when you leave the route details page. They depend on location information during the ride. If the signal is weak, stop detection may be inaccurate, so also listen to the announcements on the bus. Satellite positioning cannot reliably identify stops underground, so “Metro line details” does not offer stop alerts.
