Pick a photo to recognize
What it does
Pick a photo to recognize lets you send an existing picture from Photos to Doeviz for identification and description. On the “Select image” page, send a picture on its own or add a question by voice or text. You can ask follow-up questions afterward.
When to use it
Use it to understand a picture someone has sent you, check the contents of an older photo, or hear what is in a picture you have just taken.
How to use it
Open “Photos” in Chat, or use the “Pick a photo to recognize” shortcut, to reach “Select image.” You can select up to 1 photo at a time. After selecting one, you can:
After sending, you return to Chat automatically. The picture is added to the conversation, and the answer is read aloud as it is generated. When recognition finishes, continue asking questions in Chat to learn more details. Tap an image in the conversation to view it full screen, and use two fingers to zoom.
Recognize latest photo can be set up as a shortcut. It automatically gets the most recently taken photo and recognizes it without opening “Select image” or asking you to enter a question. Set it up in “Siri Shortcuts” on iPhone or “Home Screen shortcuts” on Android. If Photos contains no pictures, you will hear “No photos.”
You can also recognize images from other apps. For example, forward or share an image received in WeChat to Doeviz, or share an image from Photos. This opens the image selection page directly.
